Steven Gerrard undecided over Liverpool future

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says that he is still mulling over the Reds' offer of a contract extension at Anfield.

Steven Gerrard has revealed that he is yet to make a decision over his Liverpool future after being offered a contract extension.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Monday that his captain had been approached over extending his long stay at Anfield.

Gerrard, 34, inspired the Merseysiders to a 3-1 win away to Leicester City last night, but the legendary midfielder admits that he is still undecided over the club's offer.

"I'll decide when I'm ready. There's nothing to say on the contract at the moment," he told BT Sport after scoring the second goal at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday.

"When there is - the fans have known me long enough - I'll come out and I'll say what I need to say."

The former England skipper, whose existing deal expires in the summer, made his first-team debut for Liverpool back in 1998 and has since clocked close to 700 appearances.
