Bolton Wanderers target Jay Spearing?

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is said to be preparing an offer for Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing.

The 23-year-old featured 25 times in all competitions for the Reds last season, however he is now believed to be surplus to requirements following the £15m arrival of Joe Allen from Swansea City.

According to the Daily Mail, Coyle has switched his focus to securing a season-long loan deal for Spearing after ending his pursuit of Carlos Sanchez from Valenciennes.

Spearing's current contract at Anfield expires in June 2015.
