Report: Christian Benteke edges closer to Liverpool move

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is keen to join Liverpool this season, according to reports.

The Belgian international has been in fine form for Villa in recent weeks, and has been linked with a move away to some of England's top clubs.

Liverpool are said to be leading the chase, and The Sun reports that Benteke wants to force through the move.

The report also says that Liverpool are prepared to offer the 24-year-old £100,000 per week.

Benteke has scored 15 goals in 32 games this season.
