Former Manchester United manager David Moyes tips Liverpool to win this season's Premier League title.

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has backed Liverpool to win this season's Premier League title.

The Merseyside giants won 30, drew seven and lost just one of their 38 league matches last term, but Jurgen Klopp's side finished one point behind Manchester City in the table.

The Reds already have a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League this season, however, having won all seven of their matches thus far.

Moyes has backed Liverpool to win the 2019-20 title providing that attacker Roberto Firmino, who has three goals and three assists in the league this season, steers clear of injury.

"Yes, I think so (Liverpool will win the title). I thought they were a very good team last year and they are this year as well. If they can keep the front three fit - Firmino is so important to the team," Moyes told beIN Sports.

Klopp's team, who are next in Champions League action against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night, needed a clanger from Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson to triumph at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon.
