Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liverpool's hopes of Premier League glory will go right down to the wire as Wolverhampton Wanderers make the journey to Anfield for the final day of the 2021-22 season on Sunday.

A much-changed Reds side conceded first to Nathan Redmond's deflected effort against Southampton before Takumi Minamino and Joel Matip turned the tie around in a 2-1 success.

Jurgen Klopp's side remain one point behind Manchester City in the table, and they will be asking Steven Gerrard for a favour or two as the league leaders face off against Aston Villa in the two-way title race.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Wolves.

Fabinho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 28 (vs. vs. Real Madrid)

Fabinho's hamstring injury is not as serious as initially feared, and the Brazilian is on course to return for the Champions League final against Real Madrid, but he will surely not be risked for the final day of the league season.

Mohamed Salah

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: May 22 (vs. Wolves)

Mohamed Salah is in with a "realistic" chance of coming back from the groin problem he sustained in the FA Cup final here, but Klopp will understandably be cautious over his fitness.

Virgil van Dijk

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: May 22 (vs. Wolves)

As is the case with Salah, Virgil van Dijk's knee issue may not keep him out of Sunday's game entirely, but the Dutchman may only be considered for a place on the bench here.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: May 28 (vs. vs. Real Madrid)

Hearts were in mouths when Joe Gomez was taken off with an ankle injury in the win over Southampton, but scans have not revealed any significant damage, and he could be ready for the Champions League final.
