Brendan Rodgers says that his Liverpool team are adapting "really well" to his new system in training.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that he is satisfied with his team's ability to adapt to his philosophy of football.

The Northern Irishman is attempting to implement a tiki-taka style of play, which has infamously been adopted within the Spanish game.

"In terms of a lot of the pressing work we've done, they've showed up really well, and that's important in what we want to do," said Rodgers. "We've talked about the importance of possession and I've seen great improvements in a couple of weeks.

"Their understanding and management of the game will improve as time goes on, but the most important thing for now is the physical condition and that's looking very good. The tactical work will really kick in when the whole group is together, but we've already seen a lot of improvement."

Meanwhile, Reds midfielder Charlie Adam believes that he and his teammates should be challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League this season.
