Brendan Rodgers calls for support from Liverpool fans

Brendan Rodgers calls on Liverpool supporters to get behind his side following a poor start to the season as they prepare to face Norwich City at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers has made a plea to Liverpool fans to stand by his side after their poor start to the season.

The Reds have picked up just seven points from their first five games and Rodgers has come under severe criticism following back-to-back defeats to West Ham United and Manchester United.

However, the former Swansea City boss has called on the club's supporters to help lift his players out of this difficult period.

Rodgers is quoted as saying by the Sunday Express: "I'm well aware that the last two league matches haven't produced anywhere near the level you want to see from a team representing you and we are all working night and day to put that right.

"However this team, this group of players, needs your support and needs you to stay with them and help them as they bed-in and find their fluency. It is something that you have done brilliantly for us throughout my time here. It's what sets you apart."

Liverpool host Norwich City later this afternoon.
