Lawrenson: 'Suarez's chances of PFA award are over'

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes that Luis Suarez's chances of winning the PFA Player of the Year award have ended after he bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The Uruguayan scored an injury-time equaliser to earn his side a point in the 2-2 draw at Anfield, however, his performance was overshadowed when he aimed a bite at the Serbian defender following an altercation in the penalty area.

Lawrenson told BBC Sport: "I don't think he will win that [PFA award] anyway because a lot of people can't differentiate between Suarez the player and Suarez the man.

"He's a world-class player but he gives you world-class trouble."

Suarez and Liverpool have since apologised for the incident.
