Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he has been unable to put his side's 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace behind him.

The German described his start to life at Anfield as "okay" but confessed that he is still haunted by the Reds' "fucking loss" to the Eagles.

"Until now it's been okay. I'd really like to change my personality but I can't forget this fucking loss against Crystal Palace. If we had won this maybe then I would have said it was more than okay," he told reporters.

Klopp went on to say that he would like to have coached Liverpool during pre-season, but insisted that his players have made progress nonetheless.

"I know that the most important time in a season is the pre-season," he added. "I came in October, so there was no time for this. But it's okay. I think we have done not too bad until now."

Klopp's Liverpool will take on Southampton in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday evening.
