Kenny Dalglish: Premier League must accept other cultures

Kenny Dalglish claims that the Premier League must accept different cultures.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has said that the Premier League must learn to accept "different cultures and customs" or else risk losing foreign talent.

The Scot's remarks follow the FA's recent investigation of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who Manchester United's Patrice Evra accused of racial abuse after last month's encounter at Anfield.

Suarez has since said that he was using the Spanish word "negrito", which is not considered offensive in South America.

"The more good players we can get over here the better," Dalglish said. "If we're attracting foreigners they've got to be able to adapt to different cultures and customs. If they don't they will stop coming.

"I'm not just talking about Luis Suarez here. If we are to attract people to the Premier League then we have to adjust to them like they've got to adjust to us.

"Foreign players don't come to England for the sunshine, do they?"

Suarez, who joined Liverpool last winter, has scored eight goals in 24 league appearances for the club.
