Jamie Carragher: 'Jurgen Klopp's style starting to show at Liverpool'

Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool's 4-1 win over Manchester City proves that the club are starting to play to the style of manager Jurgen Klopp.

Jamie Carragher has said that Liverpool's victory over Manchester City began to show the philosophy of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds hammered Manuel Pellegrini's men 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium as an own goal from Eliaquim Mangala started the rout, while Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Martin Skrtel were also on the scoresheet.

Carragher believes that the performance proved Liverpool are starting to show signs of playing to the German's style of football since October when he replaced Brendan Rodgers.

He told Sky Sports News: "You could see the work that had been done during the week. There was talk about why [Christian] Benteke wasn't playing and Klopp said, 'Well I've been using the same players for the last 10 days in training' and you can see how that's worked.

"We've spoken about the work of Klopp in terms of being organised and pressing. I think that was the first time we've seen the work of him offensively, what he can do and maybe the damage he can cause with his teams, and that's from working with those players for 10 days during the international break."

Liverpool rose to ninth in the Premier League following their victory.
