Liverpool's Fabio Borini wants to play "big part" in Luis Suarez absence

Borini wants to play "big part"

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has insisted that he can fill the void left by Luis Suarez in the final three games of the season.

The former Roma frontman returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a dislocated shoulder by scoring in the Reds' 6-0 thumping of Newcastle United on Saturday.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will be looking to the likes of Borini and Daniel Sturridge to lead the line due to Suarez's 10-match suspension for biting the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

"We have always been together as a group and I think the performance against Newcastle showed that," the Liverpool Echo quotes Borini as saying.

"I can play a big part now not because Luis is suspended but because I am back fit. Whether Luis is available or not, we all need to focus on doing our jobs."

The Reds will take on their Merseyside rivals Everton at Anfield this weekend.
