Joe Allen feels that Liverpool will start moving up the Premier League table.

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has backed Liverpool to have a "successful season".

The Reds have shown some inconsistent form so far this campaign and as a result currently find themselves 14th in the Premier League table.

However, Allen believes that recent performances have shown that the team are heading in the right direction.

"The table doesn't reflect some of the performances and the things that have happened to Liverpool this season," he told the Liverpool Echo. "With change at a football club it does take a while for things to embed and settle in.

"Liverpool is full of world-class players and I'm privileged to play alongside them. I'm looking forward to a successful season.

"You can really see the style of play is coming into its own. The performance at Norwich typified that so I'm looking forward to the club climbing up the table."

Allen joined Liverpool from Swansea City for a reported £15m in the summer.
