Aldridge rubbishes Salah, Mane rift reports

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has rubbished reports of a rift between Reds forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Mane made his frustration with his teammate clear after not receiving a pass from the Egyptian in their 3-0 win over Burnley.

However, the pair appear to have patched things up since the incident, with Liverpool continuing their 100% domestic record to go eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Aldridge confirmed as much, saying that the duo's link-up play since that day demonstrates that there is no issue between them.

"It's just the way it is," he said. "They do look for each other; there was a passage of play on Saturday [against Leicester City] where there were three one-twos between them, and it would have been a marvellous goal.

"It's just been highlighted because of what happened at Burnley. But it is nonsense. They do look for each other, and they are both world-class.

"If it was me, would I pass? No. That's why I scored 474 goals! Of course I would; if somebody is in a much better place, of course you play it across to them."

Mane and Salah have managed 14 goals between them across all competitions as the Reds search for a first Premier League title.
