Connor Randall: 'Making my Liverpool debut was a dream come true'

Liverpool youngster Connor Randall says that it was a "dream come true" to make his senior debut at Anfield on Wednesday.

Liverpool youngster Connor Randall has admitted that making his first-team debut was a "dream come true".

The 20-year-old was one of three academy players, including Cameron Brannagan and Joao Teixeira, to be given a chance by manager Jurgen Klopp at Anfield last night.

The trio started Liverpool's 1-0 win over Bournemouth, which booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.

After making his debut, right-back Randall told the Liverpool Echo: "I really enjoyed it. That was a dream come true for me. To get the opportunity to play at Anfield in front of a packed crowd like that is something I've wanted ever since I was a little kid.

"That's what I've been working towards ever since I started off at the Academy when I was six. Now I've got that first game under my belt it's about working hard, pushing on and trying to play again."

Liverpool's next game is against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.
