Maddison, Romero, Solanke, Vicario latest: Spurs injury list for Liverpool clash

Holding a one-goal advantage from the first leg, Tottenham Hotspur travel to Anfield to lock horns with Liverpool in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Thursday night.

An injury-plagued Spurs side ended their miserable seven-game winless run in the Premier League by beating Brentford 2-0 away from home on Sunday to climb up to 14th in the table and 10 points clear of the bottom three.

Ange Postecoglou's side now need to avoid defeat in their next encounter with Liverpool if they wish to reach their first EFL Cup final in four years and keep their dreams of winning their first major trophy since 2008 alive.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Arne Slot's side.

Radu Dragusin

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Radu Dragusin awkwardly jarred his knee in the Europa League win over Elfsborg last week, and it remains unknown as to when the defender will return to the first-team fold.

Dominic Solanke

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: March 8 (vs. Bournemouth)

Dominic Solanke is still nursing a knee injury and the striker is expected to be out until the beginning of March.

Wilson Odobert

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Wilson Odobert has been sidelined since October last year with a troublesome hamstring injury and there is currently no timeframe on his potential return.

Guglielmo Vicario

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: February 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Guglielmo Vicario has returned to training after a few months out with an ankle fracture, but the goalkeeper is not expected to make his first-team comeback until the end of the month at the earliest.

James Maddison

Status: Out Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: February 16 (vs. Manchester United)

James Maddison suffered a calf strain prior to Spurs' 2-1 loss to Leicester City just over a week ago, and Postecoglou revealed at the time that he is likely to face between two and three weeks on the sidelines.

Brennan Johnson

Status: Out Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: February 16 (vs. Manchester United)

Brennan Johnson has missed Tottenham's last five games in all competitions with a calf injury and is not expected to return in time for Thursday's EFL Cup tie.

Timo Werner

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: February 16 (vs. Manchester United)

Timo Werner has missed Tottenham's last six matches with a hamstring problem and is not expected to return in time for Thursday's EFL Cup tie.

Destiny Udogie

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: February 16 (vs. Manchester United)

Destiny Udogie is making progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury, but like Johnson and Werner, the left-back is not expected to return to face Liverpool.

Cristian Romero

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: February 9 (vs. Aston Villa)

Cristian Romero is on the cusp of making his first appearance of 2025 following a thigh injury, but Thursday's clash with Liverpool will likely come too soon for the centre-back.

Micky van de Ven

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Fitness Possible return date: February 6 (vs. Liverpool)

After almost eight weeks out with a hamstring injury, Mikey van de Ven made a welcome return to the Spurs side for their Europa League win over Elfsborg, before being left out of the matchday squad for Sunday's victory at Brentford.

Postecoglou is keen to manage the Dutchman's minutes, and while he is likely to be in contention to return on Thursday, the defender will be assessed ahead of kickoff.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham Hotspur have no suspended players for this match.
