Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Norwich City

Liverpool injury, suspension list vs. Norwich

Liverpool's 2021-22 Premier League campaign kicks off at Carrow Road on Saturday evening as Jurgen Klopp's side face off against newly-promoted Norwich City.

The Reds' Champions League hopes were under threat for large portions of the 2020-21 season, but they eventually managed to claim third place while seeing their Premier League title relinquished to Manchester City.

Long-term absentees in Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson have all made pre-season comebacks ahead of Saturday's game, and the Reds' final exhibition match ended in a 3-1 success over Osasuna on Monday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Andy Robertson

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Andy Robertson hobbled off with an ankle injury during Liverpool's friendly battle with Athletic Bilbao at the weekend. Klopp is unsure whether the Scot will return before or after the next international break, but he will be out for a number of weeks.

Curtis Jones

Status: Out Type of injury: Concussion Possible return date: August 21 (vs. Burnley)

Curtis Jones was chosen to start Liverpool's final pre-season game with Osasuna before sustaining a suspected hip injury. However, the 20-year-old is now confirmed to have suffered a concussion, with the protocol therefore ruling him out of this game.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for the first gameweek of the season.
