Steven Gerrard describes Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final showdown with Everton as "special".

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has described his side's FA Cup semi-final clash with Everton as "a special occasion".

Gerrard, who was instrumental in the club's Carling Cup triumph earlier this season, scored three goals against Everton when the sides met last month. However, the Reds midfielder insists that this weekend's showdown is not about him.

"This is not only a semi-final," Gerrard told reporters.

"It's a semi against Everton. It's a massive game and it could change our season for the best.

"It'll be a really special occasion. Leading the team out is big for me personally but it's not about me on Saturday."

Meanwhile, Liverpool trail Everton in the Premier League.
