Team News: Steven Gerrard on bench for Liverpool

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has been dropped to the bench for tonight's Champions League clash with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Jordan Henderson and Mario Balotelli are also among the substitutes as manager Brendan Rodgers shakes up his starting lineup.

Fabio Borini leads the line for the Reds, while there are also places in the starting XI for Emre Can, Joe Allen and Lazar Markovic.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema all start for holders Madrid, but Gareth Bale is only on the bench after recently recovering from injury.
