Liverpool make three changes for Rangers clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made three changes to his starting lineup for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Rangers in Group A.

The Reds coach has seemingly moved away from his tried-and-tested 4-3-3 system, with Fabinho failing to make the starting XI.

Instead, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz all return to the first XI alongside Mohamed Salah, with Liverpool setting up in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 tonight.

Fabio Carvalho and Roberto Firmino also drop out of the side from the weekend's 3-3 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, as Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson form the midfield pairing.

With Andy Robertson still unavailable, Kostas Tsimikas holds his spot at left-back as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk complete an unchanged Reds backline.

There is also a spot on the bench for Calvin Ramsay, who will endeavour to finally make his Liverpool debut after recovering from a troublesome back injury.

Liverpool starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Thiago, Henderson; Salah, Jota, Diaz; Nunez

Subs: Adrian, Kelleher, Gomez, Fabinho, Konate, Milner, Firmino, Elliott, Ramsay, Carvalho, Bajcetic, Phillips
