The 63rd campaign of Europe's elite club competition culminated when Spanish juggernauts Real Madrid locked horns with Premier League giants Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League final.

Despite finishing second in their group behind Tottenham Hotspur, Los Blancos beat Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich in the knockout rounds to reach a record 16th final in the prestigious competition.

As for Liverpool, they finished top of their group before seeing off Porto, Manchester City and Roma in the knockout rounds to progress to their eighth European Cup/Champions League showpiece.
