Jordan Henderson insists that Liverpool remain a top-quality side after losing Philippe Coutinho thanks to the presence of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted that the presence of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane up top has helped the club to swiftly move on from the drawn-out sale of Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds lost Brazilian playmaker Coutinho to Barcelona in a £142m deal last month, removing their key midfield creator as a result.

Salah, Firmino and Mane have all continued their impressive form, however, with each finding the net once again in Liverpool's 5-0 win away at Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Asked why his side have been able to quickly draw a line under the Coutinho transfer saga, Henderson told reporters: "Because we still have a lot of quality players like Salah, Mane and Firmino, who create chances. We knew we would create chances going forward [without Coutinho], but it was about the team.

"[This win] was a team performance. We defended really well from start to finish throughout the whole team and created some good chances. It was a good performance and a good result but that is it. We need to move on."

Coutinho, meanwhile, has one goal and zero assists from his first six matches in a Barcelona shirt.
