Former Liverpool winger Luis Garcia has backed in-form Mohamed Salah to shine in Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The Egyptian has enjoyed a record-breaking campaign during his first season at Anfield, scoring 44 goals in all competitions for the Reds in a crucial run of form that has helped Liverpool to knock out Manchester City and Roma on their way to the final in Kiev.

"Yeah, definitely," said Garcia when asked by talkSPORT if Salah can now light up the final at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex.

"I think he's shown that all this season, it's not that he's just been scoring goals for just a couple of weeks or months.

"He's been scoring goals all this season and in all competitions - in the Champions League, in cups and in the Premier League.

"He was the best player in the Premier League this season and today's game is on the biggest stage, I'm sure he's going to perform."

Liverpool are now bidding to claim their sixth Champions League crown, the club's last triumph coming courtesy of a remarkable comeback against AC Milan in 2005.
