Gianluigi Buffon: 'Liverpool have best front three in world'

Buffon: 'Liverpool have best front three'

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has described Liverpool's front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane as the best in the world.

The Reds' forward triumvirate could come face to face with PSG's own famed attack line in the Champions League on Wednesday night, as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are expected to return from injury alongside Edinson Cavani.

Debate rumbles on over which side boasts the best attack, but Buffon - who has spent the past four months at the Parc des Princes - concedes that Liverpool just about edge it, making them one of the favourites to win the competition.

"Throughout my career I have always wanted to test myself against the best - and at the moment you really can't think of any teams in Europe who have a better front three than Liverpool," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"Liverpool have a very strong team - but I do especially look at their front players.

"This season, I see the favourites for the Champions League as Barcelona, Juventus, and Manchester City. Liverpool as well have a big chance and you can never forget about Real Madrid.

"Of course it is still a dream of mine to win the Champions League - last season I thought would be my last chance but now I have another one."

Salah, Firmino and Mane have scored a combined 20 goals in the Premier League and Champions League combined this season.
