Leyton Orient sign former Arsenal starlet

Leyton Orient have announced the signing of former Arsenal youth Jay Simpson on a one-year deal.

The 25-year-old, who has also enjoyed a spell with Hull City, arrives at Brisbane Road on a Bosman after his contract with Thai outfit Buriram United expired.

Simpson, who has over 40 career goals to his name, told Orient's official website: "I'm delighted. It's a club that is going places and I want to be a part of it."

The Londoners, who were beaten in the final of last season's League One playoff, kick off their 2014-15 campaign by hosting newly-promoted Chesterfield at the Matchroom Stadium on August 9.
