Late goal seals Levante win

Levante come from behind to seal a 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia.

A late own goal from Antonio Rukavina saw Levante earn a 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid to move up to fifth in the La Liga table.

The away side opened the scoring on eight minutes when Javier Baraja capitalised on a poor clearance to drive the ball into the bottom corner from long range.

Despite the early setback, Levante continued to press forward and their attacking intent paid off just before the break when Jose Javier Barkero sent a free kick straight past Dani Hernandez and into the top corner.

Valladolid responded in the second half to halt Levante's increasing dominance in the game but they gradually found themselves on the back foot as the home side pressed forward.

However, Valladolid came agonisingly close to regaining the lead when Daniel Larsson saw his goal-bound shot blocked by his teammate Carlos Pena.

The visitors looked as though they were going to hang on, but Rukavina could only divert a Nabil El Zhar cross into his own net to hand Levante the three points.
