Simpson upbeat over Foxes survival

Danny Simpson has insisted that he and his Leicester City teammates remain positive that they can avoid relegation this season.

The Foxes sit bottom of the Premier League table at Christmas after enduring a 12-game winless run that stretches back to September.

Nevertheless, right-back Simpson is confident that brighter days lie ahead for Nigel Pearson's side.

"It's obviously tough at the moment, but we are still positive," he told Sky Sports News. "I think the margins are so small. Any Leicester fans watching should know how hard we are trying.

"We are giving it a go and we are doing well, it's just certain moments in certain games that are going against us.

"We have got to keep going and we are positive it will turn around. We are confident it is going to change and I think people can see that watching the matches."

City host Tottenham Hotspur on Friday, before travelling to Hull City and Liverpool on December 28 and January 1 respectively.
