Leeds 'in advanced talks over new Kalvin Phillips deal'

Leeds United and Kalvin Phillips have reportedly entered advanced discussions over a new deal at Elland Road.

The 25-year-old - who has established himself as a key member of the England setup following his rapid rise - is due to become a free agent in the summer of 2024.

Leeds are therefore under no pressure when it comes to Phillips's future, but the club are thought to be keen to extend his stay amid interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.

Despite the pull of both Manchester clubs, Football Insider reports that Leeds are 'confident' of tying Phillips down to a new deal before the end of the calendar year.

The report adds that talks have reached an advanced stage, and Phillips himself is 'very keen' to put pen to paper on a new deal with a bumper pay rise.

Phillips - who is currently nursing a calf injury - boasts 14 goals and 12 assists from 219 appearances in a Leeds shirt.
