Steve Clarke has left new signing Paolo Hurtado out of Reading's squad for their Championship encounter with Leeds United at the Madejski Stadium.

However, the Royals boss has given Anton Ferdinand and Welsh international Hal Robson-Kanu their first starts of the season.

Dominic Samuel and Pavel Pogrebnyak are missing from Reading's forward line due to injury.

Leeds boss Uwe Rosler has made several changes after his team played 120 minutes in their Capital One Cup defeat to local rivals Doncaster Rovers in midweek.

The Yorkshire outfit bring in Sam Byram, Chris Wood and Sol Bamba, while Marco Silvestri starts in goal for United.

New signing Stuart Dallas also plays for the visitors, alongside youngster Kalvin Phillips, but Lewis Cook is suspended after his red card at Doncaster.
