Leeds 2-1 Burnley

Leeds United scored twice late on to secure a late comeback victory over ten-man Burnley at Elland Road this afternoon.

Ross McCormack scrambled a goal home with virtually the last kick of the game in the 97th minute to snatch the three points.

The visiting Clarets had to play more than an hour of the game a man down after Kieran Trippier received a second booking for a challenge on Luciano Becchio.

Charlie Austin gave Burnley a surprise lead with 20 minutes left by picking out the bottom corner of Andy Lonergan's goal after a swift counter-attack.

Leeds thought they had nicked a point when Brian Easton diverted Danny Pugh's ball into his own net only for top scorer McCormack to complete the turnaround.

The forward pounced after Lee Grant fumbled a shot to send the home fans into raptures.

Leeds move from 11th to eighth with the win and are now one point outside the playoffs, while Burnley drop to tenth.
