Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn 'staying put for financial reasons'

Redfearn 'staying put for financial reasons'

Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn will not relinquish his post as quitting could potentially cost him £50,000, according to a report.

The Whites boss is keen to collect the contractual bonus he is eligible for if the club finishes in 12th place or higher in the Championship, the Daily Star claims.

Redfearn has been linked with the Leeds exit after reacting angrily to the suspension of his assistant Steve Thompson, a decision that is believed to have been made without his knowledge.

The 49-year-old is expected to remain in charge until the end of the season before considering his future in the summer.

Leeds currently sit in 14th place in the Championship, two points off 12th.
