Neil Redfearn ready to discuss Leeds United future

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn is prepared to have talks with owner Massimo Cellino about his future at Elland Road ahead of his contract expiring in June.

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has revealed that he is ready to discuss his future at the club with owner Massimo Cellino.

Reports have suggested that Redfearn will leave his position following the end of the season after being left unhappy about the suspension of assistant Steve Thompson.

Cellino's ban from making executive decisions at the club will end on Sunday and Redfearn is keen to talk to the Italian over his future, which he has admitted will hinge on being involved in transfers as well as the reinstatement of Thompson.

"I've had no contact as such," Redfearn told Sky Sports News. "We're free now obviously to discuss things and talk about stuff, so I would expect next week we'll sit down and chat.

"The important part now becomes the recruitment part and if I'm going to be here I'd like to be part of that.

"It's important because if you recruit well and get the right players, you can supplement what we've done and this close season we need to recruit better."

Leeds finished the season in 15th place in the Championship following their goalless draw with Rotherham United on the final day.
