McCarthy out of running for Leeds job?

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy is believed to have ruled himself out of a switch to Leeds United in favour of a break away from football.

The 53-year-old was sacked by the Premier League club on Monday, which has prompted rumours that the former Sunderland boss could be a contender for the vacant managerial role at Leeds.

Despite reports, it is understood that McCarthy has chosen to take a hiatus from football management for a month, according to the Daily Mail.

Leeds are still searching for a new coach following Simon Grayson's departure from Elland Road at the beginning of this month.

Lee Clark has since become the front-runner to snatch the Championship job following his shock dismissal from League One side Huddersfield Town.
