Massimo Cellino to continue Football League appeal

Massimo Cellino to continue Football League appeal

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has confirmed that he plans to appeal against the Football League's decision to disqualify him.

Cellino's control of Leeds looked to be under major threat following the Football League's decision to bar him from running the Elland Road outfit as a result of an ongoing tax evasion dispute in his homeland.

The controversial Italian chief does however intend to press ahead with the appeal despite revealing last week that he is willing to sell the club to supporters' group Leeds Fans United.

When asked if the appeal would go ahead, the 59-year-old told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "Yes, I am appealing. They risk a big mess and big damage to the club."

It is not yet known whether Cellino will be in attendance for United's latest match when they take on Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
