Leeds target Mick McCarthy

Leeds United are ready to offer Mick McCarthy a swift return to management, according to the Daily Mail.

McCarthy was relieved of his duties by Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday morning, but Leeds chairman Ken Bates reportedly feels that he is the ideal candidate to fill the vacancy at Elland Road.

Leeds have been looking for a new boss since sacking Simon Grayson earlier this month following a run of three wins from 11 outings.

Reserve team manager Neil Redfearn is currently in interim charge.
