Brian McDermott hails Leeds United fans

Leeds United manager Brian McDermott has thanked the club's supporters for playing a key role in Saturday's 2-1 win at Yeovil Town.

Yeovil led 1-0 at half time and it could have been even worse for the Whites, but Ishmael Miller, who had earlier opened the scoring, missed a 44th-minute penalty.

However, roared on by a large travelling contingent, McDermott's men fought back after the break and secured the three points thanks to goals from Ross McCormack and Stephen Warnock.

"I'm absolutely delighted with win, I was pleased to go into half-time one-nil down, but when they missed the penalty that was pivotal for us," said McDermott.

"I said at half time that we would have the wind behind us in the second half and that was the turning point.

"We've had a difficult few days, but we have won two games on the spin and we have put ourselves right in [the promotion race]. The fans are like an army behind us and have been absolutely fantastic."

The official attendance at Huish Park was 7,986, 2,053 of which were Leeds fans.
