Half-Time Report: Leeds United ahead through Jerome Thomas

Leeds ahead through Thomas

Jerome Thomas has given Leeds United a 1-0 lead against Ipswich Town at half time at Elland Road.

The first chance of the game fell to the home side, as Paul Green flicked the ball into the box, before El-Hadji Diouf was denied by the quick reactions of Stephen Henderson.

However, the hosts managed to find a breakthrough midway through the first half, as Diouf's corner was headed by Luciano Becchio before being flicked in by Jerome Thomas.

Leeds nearly doubled their lead just moments later, but David Norris's header was cleared off the line by Aaron Cresswell.

The visitors failed to create many chances in the first half but went close through Carlos Edwards, who forced Paddy Kenny into making a good block when he drilled in a low shot a few minutes before the interval.
