Live Commentary: Lazio 2-1 Parma - as it happened

Defending champions Lazio took on Parma on Tuesday night for a place in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

The winner of this all-Serie A tie would book a date with either Napoli or Atalanta in the last eight.

In a tight affair, Lazio found a dramatic, late winner to move into the next round of the competition.

43 minParma are level and deservedly so. The ball is clipped into the far post where Biabiany is left unmarked. However, he brilliantly brings the ball under control, before taking a touch to set himself and curl the finish into the far corner. Game on.

28 minCLOSE! Nearly an instant response from Parma and Antonio Cassano. The Italian picks up the ball on the left of the box, before jinking inside and curling a dipping shot just wide of the back post.

25 minThere it is, Lazio are in front! Onazi smashes a low effort from range outside the box on the right, which is stopped by Bajza. However, he can only parry it right in front of him, where Perea snaps it up and makes it 1-0.

19 minParma are weathering a bit of a storm from the home side at the moment though, as Lazio enjoy a succession of corners.

18 minCHANCE! As I say that, Lazio should go in front. A dangerous corner is swung in to the edge of the six-yard area from the left, and it's far too easy for Perea to get his head to the ball. However, he nods the ball straight at Bajza, and Parma are mightely relieved.

17 minDespite having had more possession, Lazio have not really created too much.

15 minMISS! Huge chance for Lazio to take the lead, as Onazi floats a cross from the right to the far post. Rajza looks to have this covered, but Balde comes out of nowhere and skies his shot over from close range. Should have done much better there.

12 minCHANCE! Again it's fallen to Parma, and again it's comfortable for Lazio. The corner is swung in to the back post from the left, but the grappling Sansone can only head the ball over.

7 minCHANCE! The first shot on goal of the match goes to Parma, and Parolo races onto a pass into the left side of the penalty area. He gets a shot away with his left foot, but lofts it over Berisha and the Lazio crossbar.

5 minAt one point it looked certain that Bajza would be coming off, but play has now continued after a few minutes of treatment.

2 minNot the greatest start for Parma as Radu slides in from a corner at the far post and crashes into Bajza, who has stayed down and needs treatment.

The Rome outfit have won their last two matches at home, against Livorno and Inter, but in turn were beaten away 4-1 by Verona before drawing with Bologna last weekend. However, since appointing Reja as their manager, his extremely defensive style has managed to earn four points from two matches.

However, they haven't won away at the Olimpico since a Serie A match back in 2009. Roberto Donadoni will undoubtedly shake up his team, with the recently-dropped Antonio Cassano and Nicola Sansone both likely to start.

7.38pmA good run in the competition would be the perfect tonic for Lazio, as they look to kick-start their relatively poor Serie A campaign. Winning becomes a habit, so they say. Or at least that's what new manager Edoardo Reja will be hoping having replaced the sacked Vladimir Petkovic on the bench earlier this month. However, Reja did say that his Lazio team, that sit ninth in Serie A and eight points off the European places, would be rotated for the game this evening.
