Kilmarnock forward Greg Stewart has been freed to face Rangers on Wednesday night after deciding to challenge his notice of complaint.
The former Dundee, Birmingham and Aberdeen attacker was cited after appearing to aim his head at Hamilton’s Scott Martin amid an off-the-ball tussle during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Rugby Park.
He now faces a fast-track hearing in front of a Scottish Football Association disciplinary panel on Thursday where he could be hit with a two-match ban.
However, Stewart will be free to take on Steven Gerrard’s Light Blues at Ibrox in the meantime.
Killie said in a statement: “The club intends to challenge the fast track notice of complaint issued to Greg Stewart following our match with Hamilton Academical.
“A hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, November 1 where a determination on an alleged breach of Disciplinary Rule 200 shall be made.
“Until an outcome is reached, Greg remains available for selection including for tonight’s Ladbrokes Premiership match against Rangers at Ibrox.”
