Marotta: 'Paul Pogba price is rising'

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has said that £73m could no longer be enough to sign French midfielder Paul Pogba.

It is understood that the Italian champions wanted in excess of £70m for the 22-year-old this summer, with Chelsea strongly linked with a move.

The likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid also have a long-standing interest in the player, but Marotta has hinted at a world-record fee for the former Manchester United midfielder.

"Next year I predict even bigger deals. If Pogba maintains his level of performance from last year, then €100m (£73m) will not be enough to get him," Marotta told reporters.

Pogba is closing on 100 league appearances for Juve, who have lost their first two league games of the new season.
