Leonardo Bonucci: 'Juventus can reach Champions League quarter-finals'

Leonardo Bonucci believes that Juventus are strong enough to beat Borussia Dortmund in the last-16 of the Champions League.

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has backed his side to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Serie A champions have dominated Italian football in recent years, winning the last three domestic titles, but have been unable to transfer their success to Europe.

Nonetheless, Bonucci believes that the Old Lady can progress beyond the last-16 stage, where they will face Borussia Dortmund.

"Dortmund are a great team and they will tell us exactly what level we have reached in the Champions League," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"In the Champions League you need luck, but we have improved and we can finish in the top eight. I am certain of that."

Juventus crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages last year and were knocked out of the Europa League after suffering a 2-1 aggregate loss to Benfica in the semi-final.
