Sabri Lamouchi: 'Ivory Coast deserved a draw'

Sabri Lamouchi insists that Ivory Coast deserved at least a point in their Group C game against Colombia.

Ivory Coast manager Sabri Lamouchi believes that his side deserved at least a draw against Colombia in Brasilia earlier today.

The Elephants conceded two goals in the space of six second-half minutes to leave themselves in a perilous position, before Gervinho's fine individual effort gave his side some hope.

The African side were unable to pull another goal back, however, meaning that their Group C campaign will go down to the wire.

"My players did not deserve to lose, a draw would have been more deserved," Lamouchi is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"It was a very experienced Colombian team who waited for us to make mistakes, unfortunately we made some and were hit in a hard way."

Ivory Coast face Greece in their final group game.
