Paul Lambert says draw was a fair result

Paul Lambert says that neither Aston Villa nor Hull City created enough to win the game.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that today's 0-0 draw with Hull City was a fair result.

Andreas Weimann was guilty of twice striking wide when inside the penalty area for Villa, but Lambert says that neither side were good enough for the win.

"I don't think either side did enough to win the game," he told reporters.

"I couldn't fault the lads for work-rate and trying to do the right things. We just didn't have that cutting edge that we normally have."

The result leave Villa in ninth place in the league.
