Steve Bruce disappointed with draw against West Bromwich Albion

Bruce disappointed with draw

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has admitted that he was disappointed that his side could not muster enough quality to beat West Bromwich Albion in their goalless draw on Saturday.

Allan McGregor saved a first-half penalty from Graham Dorrans and made another solid stop to deny Craig Gardner in the second half.

While the Tigers had good chances of their own to win the game, they had to settle for a point at the KC Stadium.

Bruce told BBC Sport: "When you get a point away from home, as we found in midweek, you think it's a good result. But, at home, it's disappointing as you really want to do well against the teams around you.

"We found it difficult today, Lescott especially played well for them and we're indebted to our keeper. We didn't quite find that quality that was needed to win a game at this level."

The result leaves Hull 18th in the Premier League table, but only one point adrift of safety.
