Hull City and Cardiff City clashed at the KC Stadium today in the first meeting between two promoted clubs in the Premier League this season.

The pair left with a point apiece after Peter Whittingham's volley cancelled out Curtis Davies's first goal for Hull.

40 minDenied moments ago, Hull take the lead through Curtis Davies. The tall defender stooped low to meet Huddlestone's cross that had been allowed to bounce after some hesitant defending from the visitors.

39 minSTRONG HAND! Lewis makes his first meaningful save as Huddlestone is given space from 20 yards and drills low to the near post, with Lewis making a fine save.
36 minAluko, unusually, uses his right peg to let fly from distance. It's struck well enough but easy for Lewis to watch past his near post.
33 minAluko just keeps it in on the byline by cutting it back to Graham who, with his back to goal, lays it off for Elmohamady. He takes a shot but is quickly closed down by a blue shirt.
30 minClose call for Hull as Whittingham lines up a trademark piledriver but instead reverses it into Medel, who had ventured into an unusually forward position but couldn't get it under control with just McGregor to beat.

10 minThat Graham opening the stand-out opportunity of the first 10 minutes, which has been end-to-end.
6 minCHANCE! Danny Graham hasn't begun his time with Hull brilliantly and he's just missed a sitter to give the Tigers the lead. It was a free-flowing move from the home side that saw Aluko try his luck from the edge of the box. Lewis made the save but parried it straight to Graham who side-footed over from about 10 yards.
5 minFirst shot of the game comes from Gunnarsson as Kim prods the ball back for the rugged midfielder, whose low shot from 20 yards is blocked before reaching the goal.
4 minKoren loves to break forward from midfield but doesn't show off his best passing skills as he passes to absolutely no-one on the right.
1 minEarly break in play as Gunnarsson stays down after a clash of knees in the centre of the park. Looks like the visitors' number 17 should be OK to continue.

2.50pmPREDICTION TIME! Just 10 minutes until the off in Humberside so it's time for my pre-match prediction. I'm going to be boring and say a low-scoring draw. Either 0-0 or 1-1.
2.47pmThe last meeting between these two was also at the KC in May and what a memorable affair it was. Hull were ultimately promoted but it was far from easy as they Cardiff scored with virtually the last kick before Hull's promotion was confirmed as Watford failed to beat Leeds. More here.
