Hannover fight back against Hamburger SV to ease relegation fears

Hannover have picked up a 2-1 win away at Hamburger SV to climb out of the Bundesliga relegation zone.

The strugglers had to battle back from a goal behind at the Volksparkstadion after conceding with just six minutes on the clock.

Michael Gregoritsch was the man to make the early breakthrough for the hosts, tapping home when picked out in plenty of space for his side's first home goal in 276 minutes.

Both Marcelo Diaz and Nicolai Muller came close to extending Die Rothosen's advantage, but their failure to add to the early strike would prove costly.

Hannover levelled things up just short of the hour mark when Hiroshi Kiyotake converted from the spot following Hiroki Sakai's foul inside the box.

Less than 10 minutes later Kiyotake turned provider to pick out Salif Sane, who headed home a second for his side to complete the turnaround.

Hamburg, who ended a three-game winless run last time out, were unable to find a second of their own to ensure that the visitors would leave with all three points.
