Monday's La Liga predictions including Girona vs. Getafe

Elche vs. Almeria (Monday, 7.00pm)

Both looking for their first points of the La Liga season, Elche and Almeria will do battle in the second round of league fixtures on Monday.

The hosts were comfortably beaten by Real Betis on the opening day, while their opponents lost to defending champions Real Madrid on their return to Spain's top flight.

We say: Elche 1-1 Almeria

Almeria were certainly the more impressive of the two sides on the opening day, but Elche will be keen not to suffer a second straight defeat, particularly at home to a newly-promoted side, and we see a share of the spoils as the most likely outcome.

Girona vs. Getafe (Monday, 9.00pm)

After both losing their first game of the La Liga season, Girona and Getafe will square off in the second round of fixtures on Monday.

The hosts were beaten 1-0 by Valencia on the opening day after their promotion from the second tier, while their visitors were comfortably beaten by Atletico Madrid.

We say: Girona 1-1 Getafe

Girona can certainly hurt their visitors, particularly with home advantage, but we see Getafe having enough quality to at least return home with a point on Monday.
