Gibraltar goalkeeper opens up about Christian Benteke strike

Gibraltar goalkeeper opens up about conceding a goal to Christian Benteke after just eight seconds.

Gibraltar goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim has opened up about conceding a goal after just eight seconds on his international debut.

The 25-year-old, who plays for non-league Dartford in England, was beaten by Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke right after kickoff to set an unwanted record during the 6-0 drubbing.

However, Ibrahim remains upbeat following the incident and is pleased to have made his international debut against one of Europe's top teams.

"To make your debut against Belgium in a World Cup qualifier is a massive achievement," he told BBC Sport.

"If you're going to make your debut, you might as well do something you're going to remember it by."

Gibraltar have lost all of their competitive international fixtures since gaining FIFA accreditation.
