Juan Esnaider appointed Getafe boss

La Liga outfit Getafe have appointed Juan Esnaider as their new head coach until the end of the season.

The capital club, who have picked up just two points from their last 12 La Liga fixtures, are currently in 19th position in Spain's top flight with just six games of the season left.

The board took the decision to part company with Fran Escriba on Monday night following the club's 2-0 defeat to Villarreal at the weekend.

Esnaider, who is a former Real Madrid and Juventus striker, previously served as Getafe assistant under Michel during the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.

The 43-year-old's last managerial position was at Spanish club Cordoba in 2013.
