Olivier Giroud slotted in a first-time finish on 20 minutes to give the visitors the lead.

Their advantage was doubled with 20 minutes to play as Florent Malouda fired in at the second time of asking.

Germany pulled one back in the final minutes when substitute Cacau tapped in Thomas Mueller's cross.
